(November 20, 2015) The 2015 Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open presented by Farmington Bank raised $21,500 for DAV Hardware City Chapter 8, House of Heroes Connecticut, Friends of Fisher House Connecticut, the Iwo Jima Memorial Historical Foundation and more. A BIG THANK you goes out to our 189 golfers and our sponsors, including major sponsors Farmington Bank, Stanley Black & Decker, the Starlight Program at Stonington Institute and The Tomasso Group. (October 2, 2015) Joe Roman, left, Stan Dabrowski, center, and Jerome Greene take a look at “Uncommon Valor,” an oil painting by Jerzy Michalski, not pictured, at the Tunxis Pavilion at The Tunxis Country Club in Farmington Thursday night. Roman and Dabrowski were Marines at Iwo Jima in World Wat II, while Greene is the son of the late Ray Greene, a U.S. Navy aerial gunner and dive bomber. Dabrowski, Roman and Greene were honored at the country club Thursday night as part of the Golden Kielbasa Open golf tournament, which raises money for U.S. military veterans.
